GeoGLOWS can play an important role in promoting sustainability by providing decision-makers with the information they need to make informed decisions about water management and use. To achieve this goal, hydrometeorological agencies in numerous countries worldwide have received training on utilizing GEOGloWS and adapting it to their respective countries.
At the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Congress 19-2023 Hydrological Assembly, in Switzerland, GEOGloWS presented how the model has been used and faced floods as a model that provides relevant information for decision-makers.
